JMSY^of COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 64 25 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO D.A.R.E. HAWAI`I FOR ITS 2025 D.A.R.E. DAY EVENT IN WEST HAWAI`I. WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is committed to teaching elementary, middle, and high school students how to make responsible decisions to help lead a safe and healthy life; and WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is conducting a West Hawaii D.A.R.E. Day to celebrate the graduation of West Hawaii students from grades fifth through eighth who complete the 10- week Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) curriculum, scheduled for May 2025; and WHEREAS, D.A.R.E. Hawaii is requesting funds to purchase pizza and other food as well as paper goods and supplies for making shave ice for the 2025 D.A.R.E. Day event; and WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Department of Liquor Control is to support youth programs that promote public safety, education, and responsible lifestyle choices in an alcohol - and drug -free activities, such as the D.A.R.E. Day events; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to D.A.R.E. Hawaii for its 2025 D.A.R.E. Day event in West Hawai `i. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
