Subject: Attached Bill-Naming the Seven Seas Luau House in Honor of
Sally Kaleohano
I am proposing that the Seven Seas Luau House be renamed in honor of Sally Kaleohano,
pursuant to Chapter 15, Article 8 of the Hawai'i County Code 1983 (1995 Edition).
Submitted for the Council's review and consideration is the attached bill which, if
enacted, would effectuate such proposal. Section 15-67(b) of the code requires that any
such proposal include the following information:
(1) The full name of the person;
(2) The date of birth and, if appropriate, the date of the death of the person;
(3) The current or last residence of the person, including street address, town,
and district;
(4) Association, if any, of the person with the structure to be named; and
(5) A brief biography of the person, including all data relevant to the
commemorative naming.
For the Council's information, Mrs. Kaleohano's last residence was 110 Lyman Avenue,
Hilo. All other required information is contained in the bill itself. For the purpose of
complying with the code requirements, I ask that such information be incorporated in this
proposal by reference.
