Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
Thank you for considering my testimony in favor of Bill 245 which will rename the
Seven Seas Luau House in honor of Aunty Sally Kaleohano.
As you know, we will be making significant repairs to Seven Seas Luau House
this summer. When these renovations are completed, it would be appropriate to
rename the building in honor of Aunty Sally Kaleohano who was a dedicated
public servant for 23 years with the County of Hawaii.
Aunty Sally was known throughout our community for taking personal
responsibility for the maintenance and care of our recreational facilities. She
made an extra effort to ensure that festivals, sporting events and other public
gatherings were successful.
Aunty Sally was also an outstanding athlete who was instrumental in promoting
women's sports and helping to develop softball and volleyball teams in our
community.
It is appropriate that we remember Aunty Sally Kaleohano by renaming the
Seven Seas Luau House in her memory.
