announced to Lead our nation's agencies etthe federai iem8L Most nfthese peopie are so gbaringk/
unqualified to fill these posts that one can't he|o but wonder if corruption Or cronyism orgender bias
were involved.

Though we may have no power to intervene at the federal level, thank goodness that democratic process
still exists at the county Level, thanks tOyou fnik3' In this spirit, | orn weighing in.
I am concerned specificatty about three nominees:
1.Corey Stone for Director ofInformation TeohnokouV
2.Hugh Ono for Director OfPUbUoWorks
3. Westey Segawa for Director of Waste Management

experience about working aLongside Corey Stone. I have known the Kratel family for many years. I urge
you to consider Ms. Kratet's altegations about Mr. Stone's performance. She is someone who has no axe
to grind, and is the only person at her workp[ace brave enough to speak out about a situation she is
extremely familiar with. Perhaps you might use her testimony as a foundation for further questioning of
Mr. Stone.
Hugh Ono retired before the turn of the century. His age is definitely an issue.
In earlier times, I worked long and hard at the state legistature with the Environmental. Caucus, toward
the best waste -management policy possible for Hawaii. So it is an understatement to say I was
fiobberg8atedbyMr. SBg8vva'anODChaiantadmission Ofknowing eS38nh8ik/nothing about the status of
waste management on our istand. Any singte staff member or volunteer from either Zero Waste Hawaii or
Recycle Hawaii is heads -and -shoulders more qualified than someone who says he doesn't know
anything. Give me a break!
