Dear Hawaii County Council Members,
For 13 years, I've been part of the Puako community. -'I his community has donated $2.5 million and
countless volunteer hours over the past decade attempting to save the Puako Reef through efforts to
implement a sewer system in Puako. Now is the time, and this is the administration that can make
this happen. I support the confirmation of Mr. Sagawa as Director of Environmental Management, but
only if he commits to the implementation of a sewer system in Puako during his tenure by partnering
with the Puako community, the Puako for Reefs organization, and its many partners working to
complete this urgent project.
