Department of Environmental Management
Dear Hawaii County Couricil Members,
As you are receiving many of these feedback emails, I am also part of the F"Iuako community which has donated
$2.5M and countless volunteer hours over the past decade to save FIuako Reef by implementing a sewer system in
Puako. I have beers a part of the Puako community since 1988 when my husband purchased our property. We have
put in a septic system but the problems for saving the waters demands much more from `Iuako citizens and 1lawaii
citizens. And the 1:::Iuako residents have been actively working on 'trying to -find the right ways to work with
government to save our waters and all that entails.
NOW is the time, and l I 11S is the administration that can make it happen. I support the confirmation of Mr. Sagawa
as [,)E",'.M only if he commits -to partrieririg with the l::."Iuako community, the Pluako for l::beefs organizatiori, and the many
partners it has developed -through the years, to implement a sewer system in F)uako during his tenure. "i"'hank you.
Sincerely,
SallY Kerr
