My name is Dalen Delenoza, and I am writing in strong support of the "Housing Hawai'i Future" initiative. I am 20 years old and currently reside in Kekaha, Kaua'i. While I am not a resident of the Big Island, where this movement is initially being implemented, I fully support its mission and hope that it will soon extend to the neighboring islands. As I prepare to enter the next chapter of my life, I am confronted with the harsh realities of Hawai'i rising cost of living. I believe this initiative is essential for those who are currently in the process of purchasing a home, as well as for those who aspire to do so in the near future. I have a deep love for my hometown, where a two -minute drive takes me to the beach and a thirty -minute drive brings me to the mountains —a lifestyle I hope to one day share with my future children. However, with the cost of living continuing to soar, this dream may become unattainable. Many young families have already been priced out of the paradise they once called home and forced to relocate to the mainland, often far from any family or support system. Growing up in Hawai'i means being surrounded by family and community, so being separated from that pL pN 2 _ 2025 foundation is an incredibly difficult experience. This movement is critical to ensuring that future generations can continue to live, thrive, and raise their families in the islands they cherish. Sincerely, Dalen Delenoza
