Subject: Support for Hualalai Court Workforce Housing Project
Aloha Council Member Kagiwada,
I am writing in support of the Hualalai Court Affordable Workforce Housing application to build 104
affordable apartments in your district.
My name is Gabriel Kalama. I was born and raised in Waimea on the Big Island and currently attend.
Pacific University in Oregon. I am 21 years old and in the process of completing my undergraduate
degree in Sports Communications. After completing my education, I plan to come back home to serve my
community by teaching high school football. A limiting factor, however, is the high cost of living. This
project would not only help current residents be able to stay in Hawai'i but would also allow
college -bound keiki to come home after college and bring their newfound skills back to our community.
Please support this project as it would help and support our entire island community.
