SUBJECT: A Resolution Approving the Nomination of Members to the National
Association of Counties Board of Directors and the Western Interstate
Region Board of Directors
Attached is a resolution to approve the nomination of members to the National Association of
Counties (NACo) Board of Directors and the Western Interstate Region (WIR) Board of
Directors.
Due to necessity of having the nominations approved by all counties for the Hawaii State
Association of Counties to collaborate at NACo and WIR, I am requesting this item be waived
from committee and placed on the February 19, 2025, Council agenda.

RE: Resolution/Bill/Communication No. Res. No. 73-25 A Resolution
Approving the Nomination of Members to the National Association of Counties Board of
Directors and the Western Interstate Region Board of Directors
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above -referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affair to the full Council
for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the
matter shall be referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs for
placement on its future agenda.
