A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE NOMINATION OF MEMBERS TO THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND THE WESTERN INTERSTATE REGION BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
WHEREAS, Hawai‘i County is a member of the Hawai‘i State Association of Counties (HSAC), the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the Western Interstate Region (WIR); and
WHEREAS, the HSAC Executive Committee approved the nominees for the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors for the respective terms beginning January 15, 2025; and
WHEREAS, HSAC Bylaws state that Council approval is required to approve the nomination of representatives to the NACo Board of Directors and the WIR Board of Directors; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that KipuKai Kualiʻi of the Kaua‘i County Council and Tommy Waters of the Honolulu City Council and are approved to serve on the
NACo Board of Directors for the term beginning January 15, 2025.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Shane Sinenci of the Maui County Council[,] and Arryl Kaneshiro of the Kaua‘i County Council are approved to serve on the WIR Board of Directors for the term
beginning January 15, 2025.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the President and the Secretary of the Hawai‘i State Association of Counties.
