Re: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 16; An Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 06 28,
Which Amended Section 25-8-33 (City of Hilo Zone Map) Article 8, Chapter 25 (Zoning
Code) of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended) by Changing the
District Classification from Agricultural (A -la) to Neighborhood Commercial (CN-20) at
Ponohawai, South Hilo, Hawaii, Covered by Tax Map Key: 2-3-036:018 (Por).
Please see below a proposed amendment to Bill No. 16. The proposed amendment is shown in
Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 16; material to be deleted is bracketed
and stricken, and material to be added is underscored. Due to the limited scope of this
amendment, a draft copy of the new draft of this bill that would result if this proposed
amendment were adopted is not attached.
SECTION 1 of Bill No. 16 is amended by amending Condition G to read as follows:
"G. [Aeeess to the pfoperty shall be lifnited to a single loeation along Panahawai Street.
The] All access [motion] connection(s) to Ponahawai Street shall meet with the
approval of the Department of Public Works and conform to Chapter 22 (Streets) of
the Hawaii County Code. A dedicated left turn lane into the property from
Ponahawai Street, and any other access improvements required by the Department
of Public Works, shall be provided [ .]
within five ()years from the effective date of this ordinance."
