Aloha Honorable Councilmembers,
County government desperately needs dynamic, ethical, motivated people to direct all its departments.
WESLEY SEGAWA DOES NOT MEET THOSE QUALIFICATIONS.
After 50 days on the job, Mr. Segawa confesses that he is "still trying to get situated." Jeez, how can the
department move forward with that kind of aimlessness? We need motivation, not confusion. Mr.
Segawa has NO vision for the department or how to reduce waste or divert in an innovative and efficient
way.
Mr. Segawa failed to disclose upfront that his company has a $4.4 million contract with the county.
Mr. Segawa has a previous history of illegal campaign contributions.
Please DO NOT confirm Mr. Segawa for the position of Director of Waste Management. It would be a
huge blunder on the part of this legislative body.
