Aloha Chair Inaba and Council Members:
I am pleased to nominate Mr. Philip "Ippy" Aiona, of Council District 9, to the County of Hawaii
Water Board. Mr. Aiona is a 36-year resident of Hawai'i Island.
Mr. Aiona is born and raised in Waimea, a place where he and his wife, Genna, proudly raises
their young family. Mr. Aiona graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy in 2006 and
received his associate's degree from the California Culinary Academy in 2008. He's a small
business owner and entrepreneur looking forward to giving back to our island community. If
confirmed, Mr. Aiona will serve a term ending on December 31, 2029, replacing Mr. Benjamin
Ney.
