I am pleased to nominate Mr. Chris K. Toafili, of the Judicial District of North Kona to the County
of Hawai'i, Leeward Planning Commission. Mr. Toafili is a 45-year Hawai'i resident and owner
and operator of Hawai'i CDL & Safety Programs.
Mr. Toafili grew up in North Kona where he is an active member of our community. He serves in
many capacities and is a former volunteer and past president with Little League District 9 and is
a former Chief Steward with the United Public Workers. As a proud graduate of Konawaena
High School, Mr. Toafili understands the value and needs of our West Hawai'i communities. If
confirmed, Mr. Toafili will replace Ms. Mahina Paishon-Duarte and serve a term to end on
December 31, 2029.
