NTM? ��\ <br />�TF GF•NF. <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PROJECT VISION <br />HAWAI`I FOR ITS HEALTHCARE OUTREACH PROJECT IN HAWAI`I COUNTY. <br />WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br />is to enhance the quality of life throughout the State of Hawaii by improving vision, preventing <br />blindness, and advancing medical knowledge through community -based research; and <br />WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii will provide street -level, outreach community <br />events throughout Hawaii County to increase access to a variety of healthcare services such as <br />benefit navigation, prescription assistance, and vision and hearing services for low-income and <br />underserved residents; and <br />WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii is requesting funds to purchase outreach supplies, <br />medical screening supplies, and reading glasses, as well as personnel costs for administration, <br />outreach, and medical staff members to conduct its Healthcare Outreach project in Hawaii <br />County during this fiscal year; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports projects that help to <br />improve the social well-being and quality of life for Hawaii Island residents; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Research and Development to provide a grant to Project Vision Hawaii for its Healthcare <br />Outreach project in Hawaii County. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
