RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO PROJECT VISION
HAWAI`I FOR ITS HEALTHCARE OUTREACH PROJECT IN HAWAI`I COUNTY.
WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission
is to enhance the quality of life throughout the State of Hawaii by improving vision, preventing
blindness, and advancing medical knowledge through community -based research; and
WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii will provide street -level, outreach community
events throughout Hawaii County to increase access to a variety of healthcare services such as
benefit navigation, prescription assistance, and vision and hearing services for low-income and
underserved residents; and
WHEREAS, Project Vision Hawaii is requesting funds to purchase outreach supplies,
medical screening supplies, and reading glasses, as well as personnel costs for administration,
outreach, and medical staff members to conduct its Healthcare Outreach project in Hawaii
County during this fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports projects that help to
improve the social well-being and quality of life for Hawaii Island residents; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of
Research and Development to provide a grant to Project Vision Hawaii for its Healthcare
Outreach project in Hawaii County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and Director of Finance, and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
