I am James rl Frazier, Executive Director and I support construction of the Mohouli
Street extension as presently configured.
This issue has been approved as part of the County General Plan since 1959, as part of a
necessary network of access expansion in the Kaumana area. The record indicates many
levels of community meetings and discussioq formal public hearings and a Finding on
No Significant Impact (EONS], in 1998
The intent of all roadway projects in the area is to provide several safe, efi5cient,
alternative routes to alleviate congestion and open up convenient access from Kaumani to
Waiakea, encouraging traffic dispersal along several corridors including Mohouli
Puainelco end Ponahawai. This is a long-term project with federal, state and wanly
participation and will provide much needed linkage for the growing popula[ion mauka of
Komohana Street.
We encourage concerned parties to consult directly with qualified traffic management
specialists and engineers to resolve perceived concerns.
