This issue has been approved as part of the County General Plan since 1959, as part of a necessary network of access expansion in the Kaumana area. The record indicates many levels of community meetings and discussion, formal public hearings and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) in 1998. The intent of all roadway projects in the area is to provide several safe, eEticient, alternative routes tD alleviate congestion and open up convenient access from Kaumana to AV'aiakea, encouraging traffic dispersal along several corridors including Mohouli, Puainako and Ponahawai. This is a long-term project with federal, state and county participation and will pro~~ide much-needed linkage for the growing population Mauka of Komohana Street. We encourage concerned parties to consult directly with qualified traffic management specialist and engineers to resolve perceived concerns. Yours Sincerely, Hugh H.
