My name is Janelle Pura and I'm a Freshman at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. I plan to graduate in May 2027. I was raised on Oahu, Hawai'i and plan to move back home to continue my education and start building my life there. I am writing this letter in support of this affordable housing project. My grandparents were fortunate enough to immigrate from China to Hawai'i and built their own house from the ground up. Allowing my mother to have the opportunities to get a good education and income. Having affordable housing in this economy is crucial and we must give back to our community. The people of the Hawaiian islands are what makes the community. If we continue to increase housing rates, we're slowly pushing the locals out of our home. For those who are struggling to keep their home, the financial burden of owning a home in Hawai'i is terribly significant. We must make a change and it starts with the Hualalai Court Workforce Housing Project. Thank you for your time, Janelle Pura
