She is a force to reckon with, a rock to lean on, a keystone for family and community. Laura is a person who has taught me to care, to share and to forgive. I have seen her wear many hats, as a mother, a community member, a teacher, a birth worker, an activist, a politician... and she has a unique integrity and grounding that allows her to hold space for things as they are, and envision where they are going. I trust her. I trust her instincts, her devotion, her grit, and her capacity. She is a woman who loves and cares deeply. She loves her people, she loves her home, she loves this land, she loves this world. She is animated by a force for truth, for wellness and for harmony. She will stand up and face hardships, and inspire people to do the same. She is needed. Her commitment, experience and dedication will serve well in her new position in the Office of Sustainability, Climate, Equity and Resilience. She has demonstrated excellent leadership, initiative, communication and organization savoir-faire in her many endeavors prior to this appointment. I urge you to confirm Laura Acasio in this new role, and thank you for giving our community the opportunity to be cared for in this way. Charlotte Leger -- -
