Subject: Letter of Support for Comm. 104 - Nomination of Leslie H. Hanano to the Fire
Commission
Aloha Chair Kagiwada, Vice Chair Kaneali'i-Kleinfelder, and Committee Members:
I am writing to express my strong and enthusiastic support for the confirmation of Mr.
Leslie (Les) H. Hanano to the Fire Commission. Due to a scheduling conflict, I regret that I
am unable to testify in person, but I greatly appreciate the opportunity to share my support
for his nomination through this letter.
I have had the privilege of knowing Les for over 30 years, and I can say with full confidence
that he is someone who leads with integrity, fairness, and a deep commitment to serving
our community. He is a collaborative team player who listens to different perspectives
while also being able to think critically and independently when making decisions. His
ability to balance teamwork with thoughtful leadership makes him exceptionally well -
suited for this role.
At KTA Super Stores, we value and encourage civic involvement and responsibility of our
associates. Les embodies these values completely. His proven leadership, character, and
dedication to the people of Hawaii County will be an invaluable asset to the Fire
Commission.
I have no doubt that Les will serve with honor, diligence, and a deep sense of duty. I
strongly urge his confirmation and trust that he will make meaningful contributions to the
Commission and our county.
