' 89 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE LIONS CLUB OF <br />KONA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION, INC., TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES FOR THE <br />39TH ANNUAL HAWAI`I KUPUNA HULA FESTIVAL. <br />WHEREAS, the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., (LCKCFI) is a <br />501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to develop and provide community service <br />projects and activities that meet the needs of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Elderly Activities Division, is <br />coordinating with LCKCFI to host the 39th Annual Hawaii Kupuna Hula Festival that honors <br />and perpetuates the art of hula through our treasured kupuna; and <br />WHEREAS, hundreds of hula dancers will be participating in the 39th Annual Hawaii <br />Kupuna Hula Festival, which will be held September 10-11, 2025, at the Outrigger Kona Resort <br />and Spa; and <br />WHEREAS, LCKCFI is requesting funds to pay for a videographer and a sound system <br />in this fiscal year to secure these services for the 39th Annual Hawaii Kupuna Hula Festival, <br />which takes place in the following fiscal year; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Lions Club of Kona Community Foundation, Inc., <br />to assist with expenses for the 39th Annual Hawaii Kupuna Hula Festival. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
