OF Pf <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />4rt OF'M►� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HANA LAULIMA <br />LAHUI O KA`U INC. FOR ITS 9" ANNUAL PRINCE KUHIO DAY HO`OLAULE`A. <br />WHEREAS, Hana Laulima Ldhui O Ka`u Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br />whose mission is to support the development of a new economic base for the District of Ka`u <br />that will enhance economic growth, and promote a secure economic future for the community <br />and the children of Ka`u, while preserving the rich Native Hawaiian cultural heritage and love <br />for the `dina; and <br />WHEREAS, Hana Laulima Ldhui O Ka`u Inc. is coordinating the 9t" Annual Prince <br />Kuhi6 Day Ho`olaule`a, which will be held March 29, 2025, at Nd`dlehu Ball Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ho`olaule`a is free, open to the public, and will include live music, hula <br />performances, Hawaiian arts, crafts, games, workshops, demonstrations, cultural exhibits, and a <br />historical presentation to honor the legacy of Prince Jonah Kuhi6 Kalaniana`ole; and <br />WHEREAS, Hana Laulima Ldhui O Ka`u Inc. is requesting funding assistance for <br />advertising and the rental of a sound system and portable stage; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizational events that <br />enrich the lives of community members through alcohol -free and drug -free events; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hana Laulima Ldhui O Ka`u Inc. for its 9t" Annual Prince <br />Kuhi6 Day Ho`olaule`a held on March 29, 2025. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
