RE: Mohouli Street Extension
Dear Councilperson Leithead-Todd:
[ am the acting President ofthe Sunrise Estates Homeowners Association ("SEHA").
This letter will confirm my statement at last night's informational meeting. The person named
Anna Lucas who submitted a letter to you as well as other residents of the subdivision does not
speak for the residents of Sunrise Estates or SERA as she states or implies in her letter. She only
represents herself and not the SEHA. The SEHA does not take a position on the Extension.
Each homeowner is entitled to his or her own opinion.
For your information, I have attended virtually every SEHA meeting since 1995, and at
each meeting we usually have some discussion on the status of the Mohouli Street Extension. I
feel obligated to point out that our recent Annual Meeting was held on January 27, 2000 at the
Hilo Yacht Club. Al that meeting we were given a presentation by Ron Terry of Okihara and
Associates on the proposed improvements to lower Mohouli Street. Upon a show of hands vote
with those members present, the majority were in favor of the option with no curbs, gutters and
sidewalks. There were no voiced objections to the project as a whole.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter. If you need further information, please
do not hesitate to contact me.
Very truly yours,
SUNRISE ESTATES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
