Enclosed is a resolution accepting a donation of supportive, consultive, and technical services for
pursuing federal awards and assistance from Ulupono LLC, a limited liability company. These
services, valued at approximately $90,000, will help to optimize the County of Hawai'i's efforts
and improve the County's ability to maximize federal funding opportunities.

A. REQUEST:
A resolution to accept a donation from Ulupono Initiative LLC, a limited liability company ("Ulupono") for
supportive, consultive, and technical services for pursuing federal awards and assistance for the County of
Hawaii with an approximate value of $90,000.00.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Ulupono is a Hawai'i-focused impact investment firm that strives to improve the quality of life throughout the
islands by helping our communities become more resilient and self- sufficient through locally produced food,
renewable energy and clean transportation choices, and better management of freshwater resources.
Ulupono will fund a Team to provide to the County immediate supportive, consultive, and technical services
for pursuing federal awards and financial assistance that provides support or stimulation to accomplish a
public purpose and includes grants and other agreements in the form of money or property in lieu of money,
by the federal government to an eligible recipient.
The Team's services will support County departments and agencies in their pursuit of specific federal awards
as well as the development of infrastructure and resources that increase the County's capacity to pursue
federal assistance. Entering into this MOU and accepting this resource will help the County optimize its
efforts and improve the County's ability to maximize federal funding opportunities.
