Dear Chairperson Arakaki: Pursuant to Section 2-9 of the Hawaii County Code (1995 ed.), I am forwarding the quarterly reports for all settlements made according to the authority given to the Office of the Corporation Counsel under that section. As the Council correctly pointed out, our office has not been timely in submitting such quarterly reports. Accordingly, I have attached the settlements in two separate formats from Fiscal Year 1998 to the present. The letter formatted page provides all settlements for traffic accident related claims are set out. The second table formatted page provides all settlements for all "small claims" which are defined as claims that are settled for $1,500 or less, which excludes traffic related or No-Fault type of cases. Please accept my apology for not submitting these quarterly reports in a timely manner. I have personally changed office procedures to insure that future reports are submitted to the Council on a regular and timely basis.
