To Finance Committee
Arron Chung, Chairman
From - Ginger Towle, President
Kona Crime Prevention Committee, Inc.
Subject - Government funds to Police Dept for marijuana eradication.
Kona Crime Prevention Committee supports the acceptance or these funds.
Our police department is asked to eliminate marijuana on our island and as long as this is a requirement
they needed to be fully supported in their efforts.
All necessary records must be maintained so that the County Council is protected from frivolous lawsuits.
While there are those that oppose acceptance of these funds, the silent majority is in favor.
We want our island known for other attributes rather than a "Pot Capital" with all it's related problems. The
money will be spent. We can concentrate on control and elimination or just let it go and then spend it and
much more on the social problems that will surely result in such an action. The total social climate of our
island Is dependent on controlling the growing drug related activities and marijuana is and ahvays has been
an entry drug.
Don't ask the police to do'a job and then hamper them in the effort.
Please accept the government funds.
