A. REQUEST:
Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi -year lease agreement for a period of five years for nine
Mid -Size 4x4 trucks for the Department of Parks, and Recreation, Parks Maintenance Division.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Parks Maintenance Division is requesting to lease finance nine Mid -Size 4x4 trucks to be used to
transport staff and equipment between baseyards and park facilities. The Park Maintenance Division's
operations require these trucks to perform work duties to maintain clean and safe park facitlities, island' -wide
without interupting services.
The Division intends to replace nine trucks for,its operations. Without these trucks, the Division's operations
will be adversely affected as its ability to complete daily activities will be compromised by park maintenance
duties not getting done. Trucks will not be available for the Division to operate effectively and maintenance of
trucks will take longer due to vehicles needing major repairs.
Purchase price is estimated at $60,000.00 per truck or $540,000.00 for nine trucks. The estimated lease
payment is $10,000.00 per month for the nine trucks.
Funding for the lease is, not'included in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget and the delivery of the trucks is not
expected until next fiscal year. The trucks will be lease financed such that the County will own the
equipment at the end of the five year lease.
