SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 27; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 2, Article
45, Section 2-235, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended),
Relating to the General Excise and Use Tax Surcharge.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 27. The proposed amendment is
shown below in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 27; material to be
deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be added is underscored.
SECTION 2 of Bill No. 27, which amends chapter 2, article 45, section 2-235, of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending subsection (c) to read
as follows:
"(c) "Housing infrastructure costs" in this section means easts that inel del includes
costs for pedestrian paths or sidewalks on a County road near or around a public
school; water, drainage, sewer, water reuse, waste disposal, and waste treatment
systems that connect to County infrastructure; roadways, curbs, and gutters, and any
related financing costs, debt service, and financing agreement costs."
Due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a copy of the new draft of Bill No. 27 that
would result if it were adopted is not attached.
