COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />1TE CF•N►� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1.09 25 <br />RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND <br />FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE ANNUAL OUTSTANDING OLDER <br />AMERICANS AWARD LUNCHEON. <br />WHEREAS, in 1963, the month of May was designated as Senior Citizens Month by <br />President John F. Kennedy and was later renamed to Older Americans Month in 1980 by <br />President Jimmy Carter; and <br />WHEREAS, Older Americans Month continues to be celebrated locally and across the <br />country through ceremonies, events, and fairs; and <br />WHEREAS, in recognition of Older Americans Month, the Hawaii County Office of <br />Aging will be hosting the annual Outstanding Older Americans Award Luncheon, which <br />recognizes our kupuna for their extraordinary efforts and contributions to our community; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of Aging is requesting funds to assist with expenses associated <br />with hosting this year's award luncheon on May 9, 2025, which includes venue rental fees and <br />meals for the kupuna; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of Aging to <br />assist with expenses associated with the annual Outstanding Older Americans Award Luncheon <br />on May 9, 2025. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $1,000 <br />I �§_I .fib i <br />010.411.5411.02 Office of Aging $1,000 <br />Office of Aging OCE <br />341 Misc.
