COUNTY OF HAWAI`I _• STATE OF HAWAII <br />,TE•OF NF• <br />RESOLUTION NO. �- <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br />RECREATION WITH PURCHASING GOALS AND SCOREBOARDS FOR THE 2025 <br />HAWAI`I INTERNATIONAL FUTSAL CUP. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting the Hawaii <br />International Futsal Cup (HIFC) on August 15-17, 2025, which will take place at the Edith <br />Kanaka`ole Multi -Purpose Stadium, Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, and Pana`ewa Park; and <br />WHEREAS, futsal is a version of soccer that is played on a hard court, usually indoors, <br />and is fast paced, emphasizing technique and skill; and <br />WHEREAS, last year's HIFC tournament drew 46 teams and approximately 400 players <br />from Hawaii, Japan, and the continental United States, fostering cross-cultural connections <br />through friendly competition; and <br />WHEREAS, the HIFC tournament also supports local businesses by hosting food trucks <br />and local vendors, which boosts the economy; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting financial assistance to <br />purchase two goals and two scoreboards for the 2025 Hawaii International Futsal Cup; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to assist with purchasing goals and scoreboards for the 2025 Hawaii <br />International Futsal Cup. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
