JCS' OF <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAII <br />�rf cF•M►.� <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1:17 25 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO `O KA`U KAKOU FOR <br />ITS 2025 SUMMER FUN FEST AND INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION. <br />WHEREAS, `O Ka`u Kdkou (OKK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that sponsors <br />and supports community activities in the district of Ka`u that enhance the quality of life for keiki, <br />kupuna, and businesses; and <br />WHEREAS, to celebrate the Independence Day of our Nation, OKK is coordinating a <br />parade in Nd`dlehu set forth on June 28, 2025, followed by its 2025 Summer Fun Fest that will <br />feature inflatable water slides and bouncy castles for the keiki and bingo games for all to enjoy; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, OKK will be providing lunches, drinks, and refreshments for all event <br />attendees as well as prizes for the bingo games; and <br />WHEREAS, OKK is requesting funds to assist with the cost of equipment rentals, the <br />purchase of food, drinks, ice, and supplies such as paper goods, arts and craft supplies, and shave <br />ice supplies for this free community event; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this event as it is in <br />alignment with the goals of the department to promote safe and healthy community activities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(C) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to `O Ka`u Kdkou for its 2025 Summer Fun Fest and <br />Independence Day Celebration. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
