A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION WITH PURCHASING GOALS AND SCOREBOARDS FOR THE 2025 HAWAIʻI INTERNATIONAL FUTSAL CUP.
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting the Hawaiʻi International Futsal Cup (HIFC) on August 15-17, 2025, which will take place at the Edith Kanakaʻole Multi-Purpose
Stadium, Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, and Pana‘ewa Park; and
WHEREAS, futsal is a version of soccer that is played on a hard court, usually indoors, and is fast paced, emphasizing technique and skill; and
WHEREAS, last year’s HIFC tournament drew 46 teams and approximately 400 players from Hawaiʻi, Japan, and the continental United States, fostering cross-cultural connections through
friendly competition; and
WHEREAS, the HIFC tournament also supports local businesses by hosting food trucks and local vendors, which boosts the economy; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting financial assistance to purchase two goals and two scoreboards for the 2025 Hawaiʻi International Futsal Cup; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to assist
with purchasing goals and scoreboards for the 2025 Hawaiʻi International Futsal Cup.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
