Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members,
I am pleased to nominate John P. Kometani of Council District 9 to the Environmental
Management Commission.
M[ KOmHtani' 8 resident Of Nbh8|8 since 1988' is well known for his energetic CO00uOhv
engagement as an active volunteer with the Kohala Food Basket, North Hawai'i Hospice, and
the Kohala Lions Club before they went inactive. He is a retired science teacher at Kohala High
School and is a proud Hawai'i State Teachers Association Retiree.
Before teaching, K8c KomRtani was acertified first responder in emergency medical services in
O'8hUand North H8VV8i'i.HHgraduated from Mid -Pacific Institute Honolulu iO1907and received
a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Macalester College, Minnesota, in 1971.
