Pacific Tsunami Museum
Testimony for Resolution 99-2S
Testimony #1: Tom Forbes
Board Member and Docent
If you could hear what I hear, the impassioned pleas to stay open. They
are coming from a community of tsunami survivors. They are coming
from generations after. They come with stories of loss and of survival
and of rebuilding. They come with the extra five dollar bill - the heartfelt
donation. They have even come with tears and apologies for not having
come in sooner.
This community talks. They talk about the value that the museum
brings in educating school kids. They assure me that they know how
important that is. It's not a hard sell when their passion runs deep. The
importance of our museum's existence is made clear to us daily. We
serve this community and people from around the world with
knowledge that saves lives. There is no doubt as to the importance of
our museum. Not when you hear what I hear.
COMITI.
