Britt to the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission " PONC" Aloha Chair Kagiwada, Vice -Chair Kaneali'i-Kleinfelder, and Committee Members, I wholeheartedly am in support of Communication 176 for the nomination of Janet R. Britt to PONC. Janet is the perfect fit for this very important Commission and brings immeasurable wealth of knowledge and experience. I have known Janet for almost 20 years, and she is loving, kind, humble and highly respected by all in the community. Not only is she more than qualified to be on PONC, she understands this program intimately. While she worked for HILT, now the Hawaii Land Trust, she nominated many properties to PONC throughout the years, testifying, educating and advocating to protect our special places. In addition, she is an excellent grant -writer, just to name a few, she has worked for the Friends of Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Gardens helping them with their PONC Stewardship Grant to secure critical funds for stewardship to revitalize the gardens along with securing millions of dollars in grants with USDA. She is also the co-founder of Moku 0 Keawe Land Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to protect the natural heritage of Hawaii island. Janet's love for the protection of our'aina and natural resources is immeasurable. She is an active volunteer in the community for so many organizations, and will be an absolute asset to PONC. I humbly ask for your consideration. Mahalo nui loa, Comm. No Rif. T.-Ij_ Ref. Day_ -_MAR,`
