SUBJECT: Transmitting Bill No. 27, Draft 2; An Ordinance Amending Chapter 2, Article 45,
Section 2-235, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended),
Relating to the General Excise and Use Tax Surcharge
Transmitted herewith is Bill No. 27, Draft 2. During its meeting on March 19, 2025, the Council
amended Bill No. 27 with the contents of Communication No. 119.1, resulting in the attached
draft.
The Council then suspended Rule No. 23-1(d) and passed Bill No. 27, as amended to Draft 2, on
second and final reading.
