SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 24, Draft 2; AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 25, ARTICLES 1, 2, 4, 5, AND 7, OF THE HAWAI`I COUNTY
CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO
TELECOMMUNICATION ANTENNAS AND TOWERS.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 24, Draft 2. The amendment is shown
below in Ramseyer format with respect to the content of Bill No. 24, Draft 2; material to be
deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be inserted is underscored.
SECTION 5 of Bill No. 24, Draft 2, which amends chapter 25, article 2, division 7, section 25-2-
74, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as amended), is amended by amending
paragraph (2) to read as follows:
"(2) Building plans for the tower, certified by a licensed structural engineer,
verifying that the tower, at full build out inclusive of all potential antennas and
equipment, will have a hard survivability for sustained winds of one hundred
miles per hour or meet the requirements [ef] set forth in the building code[;],
whichever is reater;"
A copy of the new draft of Bill No. 24, Draft 2, that would result if this proposed amendment
were adopted is not attached, due to the limited scope of the amendment.
