WHEREAS, OluKai is donating one -hundred twenty-six (126) pairs of
footwear specifically designed for Beach Lifeguards, valued at approximately
$13,860 and two -hundred fifty (250) reusable bags, valued at approximately
$1,250 to the County of Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the footwear and reusable bags will be utilized by the Fire
Department's Water Safety Officers while on duty; and
WHEREAS, Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of
donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or
any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the
Hawaii County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or
personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the
Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the
Council; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii Fire Department recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article X111, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County
Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County
Code, the Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
transmitted to the Office of Management, Department of Finance and Fire
Department.
