RESOLUTION NO. `1
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE HAWAI`I POLICE DEPARTMENT TO
PROMOTE PUBLIC SAFETY AWARENESS.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Department's Community Policing is committed to
providing the highest quality of police service and forming partnerships with the community to
achieve public satisfaction making Hawaii Island a safe place to live, visit, and conduct
business; and
WHEREAS, in partnership with the community, the Hawaii Police Department is
committed to enforcing the law, protecting the peace, and preserving the spirit of aloha on
Hawaii Island; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting funds to purchase a speed radar and
items to promote public safety awareness such as car seats; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Police
Department to promote public safety awareness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
