RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE
REMOVAL OF THREE PENCIL TREES OF THE MAKA`EO WALKING PATH AT
THE OLD KONA AIRPORT PARK.
WHEREAS, the Maka`eo Walking Path is a shared -use pathway approximately one mile
long that is located at the County's Old Kona Airport Park; and
WHEREAS, the Maka`eo Walking Path consists of two paved -asphalt loops, an exercise
pavilion, colorful gardens, an anchialine pond, and a north- and south -end lawn that are hosts to
weekly physical activities, lessons, and events for the community; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is working in partnership with
Friends for Fitness, a nonprofit organization that assists the County with maintaining the
Maka`eo Walking Path; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funds to assist with
expenses related to the removal of three pencil trees of the Maka` eo Walking Path; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for expenses related to the removal of three pencil trees from the Maka`eo
Walking Path.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
