Bruno of Council District 9 to the Board of Ethics. <br />Aloha Council Chair Inaba and Council Members, <br />I am pleased to nominate David F. Bruno of Council District 9 to the Board of Ethics. <br />Mr. Bruno was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Warren, Vermont, where he graduated from <br />Harwood Union High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and a <br />Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. <br />Mr. Bruno has strong familial ties to East Hawaii, where his grandfather, Dr. Theodore Tadashi <br />Oto, was a physician and founded one of the original Japanese hospitals in the early 1900s. His <br />mother, Ellen Oto, was born in Hilo in 1932 and became an educator, teaching at Waiakea <br />Intermediate School. His father served as the Executive Director at Lyman Museum and was a <br />proud Rotarian and community leader. <br />With Mr. Bruno's personal commitment to service and community, combined with his extensive <br />legal experience involving document review projects, including large corporate litigation <br />recovery requests, he is exceptionally qualified to serve on the Board of Ethics. <br />If confirmed, Mr. Bruno will replace Ms. Denise Nakanishi and will serve a term ending on <br />December 31, 2029.
