Subject: Regulate small cells
To the Council:
Please support the amendment to include small cells in Bill 24. The
Director misspoke when he said small cells couldn't be regulated
here. Wireless technology is constantly changing, and the
ordinance must keep pace. Several years ago, the County adopted
a resolution to halt 5G small cells. They are a novel and untested
technology that has raised alarm bells worldwide and caused
dozens of local jurisdictions nationwide to regulate deployments. -
Big Island needs an ordinance that includes small cells.
