Subject: small cells
Please support the amendment to include small cells in Bill 24. The Director made a mistake when he
said small cells couldn't be regulated here. Wireless technology is constantly changing and the
ordinance must keep up. Several years ago the County adopted a resolution to halt 5G small cells.
They are a novel and an untested technology that has raised alarm bells around the world and
caused dozens of local jurisdictions across the country to regulate deployments. Big Island needs an
ordinance that includes small cells.
