It is with deep admiration and aloha that we share our support for her nomination to the Leeward Planning Commission. We've known Kawehi for decades—not just as a professional or public figure, but as a mother, a friend, and a true daughter of this island. We've watched her raise her family with intention and love, show up for her friends with unwavering support, and lead in both business and community with the kind of grace that can't be taught. Everything she does, she does with heart. What sets Kawehi apart is her ability to move between worlds—whether she's in a boardroom, at a community event, or sitting with kupuna, she brings the same grounded presence and clarity of 1 Comm. N I'l Ref. To. r1r Ref. Dove AP , m 1 2025 purpose. She doesn't just talk about serving the community—she lives it, every day. Her decisions are guided by her deep love for this island and a genuine desire to protect its future. This nomination is not only fitting—it's necessary. Kawehi understands the real-life impact of planning decisions because she's lived and breathed the very community she's being asked to serve. She will carry this kuleana with humility, strength, and a perspective that is both practical and profoundly rooted. We are proud to call Kawehi our friend and even prouder to support her in this role. She will be an invaluable voice on the Commission, and we urge her confirmation without reservation. With heartfelt aloha, Peter & Paula Alu Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 2
