Aloha County Council Members,
My name is Ikaika Baptista and as a member of Hawai'I Island's construction Industry,
I'm pleased to offer my strong support for the nomination of Kawehi Inaba to the County
of Hawai'i's Leeward Planning Commission.
In this line of work, we understand that good planning is essential to building a healthy,
thriving community. it takes leadership that balances progress with preservation, growth
with grounded decision-making. Kawehi brings that balance. She's not only a respected
leader in business and community spaces—she's someone who consistently shows up
with integrity, clear communication, and a willingness to listen to all sides.
Kawehi has a longstanding commitment to West Hawal'I and the people who call it
home. Her ability to bring stakeholders together—whether it's developers, cultural
practitioners, small business owners, or everyday community members—makes her
uniquely effective in navigating complex issues. She leads with both heart and
practicality, which Is exactly what's needed in spaces where land use decisions shape
our island's future.

have no doubt that Kawehi will serve the Leeward Planning Commission with
professionalism, fairness, and a strong sense of kuleana. Her appointment would be a
true asset to our community, and I fully support her nomination.
