As a parent,I often look to other families in our community for examples of what it means to raise children with strong values,work ethic,and a heart for service.I have been fortunate to know Kawehi and her family for many years, and can attest first hand s , that Kawehi Inaba and her husband have done just that.Their three children are not only ,c respectful and grounded—theyare each contributing to our community p g ty in meaningful ways.That doesn't happen by accident.It's a reflection of the values modeled in their home: accountability,humility,kuleana,and aloha. That's also exactly how Kawehi shows up in every other part of her life—whether in business,nonprofit leadership,or community advocacy. She leads with the same steady, thoughtful presence that has guided her as a mother. She's consistent, she follows through,and she's not afraid to do the hard work behind the scenes that makes real change possible.Her to call to service has been evident in her many accomplishments, and also a testimony of her willingness to put the interests of the community and the people of this island at the forefront of her decisions. Kawehi understands that leadership isn't about being the loudest in the room—it's about listening,learning,and lifting others up. She leads with integrity and intention,and her ability to connect with people across generations and sectors makes her an ideal candidate for the Leeward Planning Commission.
