COMMISSION

Governmental Operations and External Affairs:
Thank you for the opportunity to express my support for the nomination of Ms.Rebecca Kawehi Inaba(Comm.
200) to serve on the Leeward Planning Commission. Her experience, dedication to the West Hawaii
community,and proven leadership make her an outstanding candidate for this important role.
During my time as Senator for District 3 (Kona,Kali,Volcano), I have worked closely with Ms. Inaba in her
professional capacity as the Executive Director of La`i`opua 2020, where she has led efforts to uplift and
empower the West Hawai`i community. Through this work,her commitment to addressing critical issues such
as housing, economic development, and community well-being is evident in the impactful programs she has
championed. Ms. Inaba's ability to engage stakeholders,foster collaboration,and deliver tangible results has
consistently impressed me.
Ms. Inaba's expertise in community development, coupled with her deep understanding of the unique
challenges and opportunities facing West Hawai`i, make her an ideal addition to the Leeward Planning
Commission. Her thoughtful, inclusive approach to problem-solving and her dedication to serving the best
interests of our community will ensure responsible and balanced decision-making.

200). I am confident that her leadership and vision will benefit the Leeward Planning Commission and the
