While 'currently reside on the east side of the island, I believe deeply that Hawaii Island;;us one `ohana—one community. The well-being of our `aina and our people depends on all of us standing together to protect what we love and ensure a future rooted in balance, respect, and aloha. It is in that spirit that I offer my strongest support for Kawehi Inaba's nomination to the Leeward Planning Commission. I have long admired Kawehi for the way she leads with grace, humility, and unwavering commitment to her community. Her track record spans government, nonprofit leadership, business consulting, and civic engagement, all marked by a steady dedication to cultural integrity and community voice. Kawehi has the experience to navigate complex issues while keeping people and place at the center. She creates space for others to be heard and leads with both wisdom and heart. Her leadership is grounded in aloha and kuleana, and she holds space for diverse perspectives while never losing sight of what matters most—our shared future. Hawaii Island deserves leaders who bring people together across districts, sectors, and differences. Kawehi is that kind of leader, and I believe she will be a tremendous asset to the Commission and the island as a whole. Mahalo for your time and thoughtful consideration.
