Subject: No to resolution 74-25
Aloha,
This is to submit my testimony in opposition to council resolution 74-25. ICE does not belong embedded in any way in
the Hawaii Police Department. If there was a way to keep ICE out of our islands all together, that would be the best
course of action. HPD is over -extended enough; they do not need to be in the business of arresting people who are
trying to peacefully go about their lives, many of whom are only here illegally because they have been denied any legal
pathways for entrance to the US. Keep ICE out of the Hawaii Police Department i Though the federal government may
no longer care about civil rights and the rule of law, our state and county has a duty to protect its residents.
